Feeding Time…

Its that time of year, fledglings abound and doting parents tend to their young…but not all feeding behavior is for bringing up baby.  In the gallery below you’ll see a Barn Swallow tending to her young, a yellow warbler feeding its fledgling insects and a Hairy Woodpecker feeding his offspring suet from a feeder.

But you’ll also see food used in courtship among Least Terns and a peanut being used to gain the friendship of a Gray Squirrel.
