Birding in Biddeford

Its been a while since I have had a chance to post an update.  Last week I was asked to speak at the annual meeting for Saco Bay Trails, but before the speech I snuck out to Rotary Park in Biddeford where for the first time this year, I saw an Orchard Oriole.  I also had a chance to see the more prevalent Baltimore Oriole, some warblers icluding large numbers of chestnut-sided warblers, common yellowthroats, ovenbirds, American redstarts,  and yellow warblers.  There were also Warbling Vireos, Red-Eyed Vireos, Kingbirds and Cedar Waxwings.

Today I had a chance to head towards the ocean and spent the day near the 3 ponds and the beach near the spiritual center in Biddeford Pool.  Great numbers of Warblers, and also a female Ruby-throated hummingbird.  On the beach there were Semipalmated Plovers and Semipalmated Sandpipers.  I’ll post more photos but here are a handful of the birds.
