Today was the first solid sunny day in May and a great day to observe the waves of incoming migratory birds. I observed more black and white warblers today than any other species of warbler. In fact they outnumbered Palm Warblers and Yellow-Rumped Warblers combine, which is saying a lot for early May.
On my way to the “junk pond” with Rob and another birder, we encountered a Black and White Warbler taking a bath.
It was very early in the morning, not much after 7AM and the light was not great. I managed to get some cool long exposure shots of the bird shaking the water off of itself after it took its dip.
