Black & White Warbler Bathing

Today was the first solid sunny day in May and a great day to observe the waves of incoming migratory birds.  I observed more black and white warblers today than any other species of warbler.  In fact they outnumbered Palm Warblers and Yellow-Rumped Warblers combine, which is saying a lot for early May.

On my way to the “junk pond” with Rob and another birder, we encountered a Black and White Warbler taking a bath.

It was very early in the morning, not much after 7AM and the light was not great.  I managed to get some cool long exposure shots of the bird shaking the water off of itself after it took its dip.

And shot some video too…
